How Can I Connect My XGIMI Projector to Bluetooth Speakers?

Bluetooth speakers and projectors are an excellent match for each other. Once you connect the two devices, you can watch movies with better audio and more people. Regardless of your projector brand, the initial setup can be relatively simple. However, some people might encounter challenges when connecting the two. Therefore, this article will teach you how to connect your XGIMI projector to Bluetooth speakers.

To connect your XGIMI Projector to a Bluetooth Speaker, enable Bluetooth connectivity on your XGIMI projector. To do so, click the Menu button on your remote control and then go to System.

From there, select Bluetooth and then select Enable Bluetooth. Then, assuming your speaker’s Bluetooth connectivity is on, press “Menu”> “System”> “Bluetooth”> “Connected Devices” on your XGIMI remote.

Finally, Select your Bluetooth speaker in the list of devices found by the projector, and Press the middle circle button to connect.

How Can I Know That My XGIMI Projector is Equipped With Bluetooth Capability?

Not all XGIMI projectors have built-in Bluetooth accessibility.

Therefore to check whether your XGIMI projector has Bluetooth capabilities, please refer to the serial number on the bottom of the projector.

If your serial number starts with ‘XDR,’ your XGIMI projector has Bluetooth functionality. An excellent example of an XGIMI Bluetooth projector is the

For example, if the serial number is XDR-A010011092190, then know that your projector has the Bluetooth feature.

Another method to determine that your projector has Bluetooth is swiping down from the top of the home screen. If there is a Bluetooth button, then your projector is Bluetooth compatible.

Alternatively, you can use the remote control to navigate the Settings menu. Once there, If the projector has Bluetooth capabilities, there will be a Bluetooth option on the left side of the screen.

Other XGIMI Bluetooth projectors are the XGIMI MoGo Pro portable projector  and the XGIMI Halo Smart Mini  portable projector.

Using the XGIMI Assistant app

Interestingly XGIMI has an assistant app that works as well as the remote.

Users who have problems with their remotes can use the app to access the projector’s settings and thus initiate Bluetooth pairing.

  • First, download the app from either the Appstore or Google play.
  • Then ensure your phone and projector are on the same Wi-Fi network for easy pairing.
  • Next, launch the app and search for your projector from the devices list and pair it to the app.

Once done, you can use the app to navigate the various settings and menus until you get to Bluetooth settings.

Here is a video on using the assistant app, especially with the XGIMI H2 1080p Full HD  or the XGIMI Z6 Polar Portable  projectors.

Using a Mouse & Keyboard

If you don’t have a remote, you can try using a mouse and a keyboard to navigate your projector’s settings. The steps below will help you use this method.

  • Primarily connect your Mouse and Keyboard to your XGIMI projector through the USB port at the back of your projector.
  • Then go to the Settings menu and choose the Wireless & Networks option from the list of available settings.
  • Here, press the button on your Keyboard that corresponds with the letter B

The action will open up a new window called Bluetooth Settings. The window allows you to find devices near you and pair them with your Bluetooth projector.

After, press Enter on your Keyboard or click on the Search button using your mouse.

You should now see all devices near you that are discoverable. In our case, it’s our Bluetooth speaker, which we want to pair with the projector.

Therefore, search for the name of the Bluetooth speaker and navigate to it using the arrow keys on your Keyboard. Then select Enter on the Keyboard.

Once you see a prompt message on your screen saying “connected,” you can now start watching your favorite show.

What If My Speaker Does Not Have Bluetooth?

Some external speakers do not have Bluetooth functionality, and users might still want to use a Bluetooth connection.

In such a case, you can still connect it to your Bluetooth speakers by using a simple device called a Bluetooth adapter . Or connecting your speakers directly to the streaming device can be a last resort.

Using a Bluetooth Adapter

Connecting your XGIMI projector to your non-Bluetooth speakers does not require a complex process.

All you need is a Bluetooth adapter  which you can purchase online, and you are good to go.

connect speaker to projector using Bluetooth adapter

Connect the adapter to your speaker’s USB port, giving the speaker Bluetooth capabilities. After that, turn on your speaker.

Once you have done this, search for Bluetooth devices on the computer connected to your projector and select the name of your Bluetooth adapter from the list of devices displayed.

Next, select “Pair” when prompted and wait for some time until pairing is successful.

The audio can now play through the speakers instead of the projector once the pairing is complete.

Connecting the Bluetooth Speakers to the Streaming Device

The good news is, fortunately, you can connect a Bluetooth speaker to your streaming device. Connecting the two devices is mostly a matter of pairing the devices, which is a simple process.

Therefore follow the steps below:

  • First, turn on the Bluetooth speaker and ensure it’s in pairing mode.
  • Then access your streaming device’s settings, go to the “Bluetooth” page or section, and search for available Bluetooth devices.
  • Finally, select the Bluetooth speaker from the list of available devices when it appears, and wait for the two devices to pair.

Using an Audio Cable

Using an audio cable, you can connect your XGIMI projector to a Bluetooth speaker if the speaker has the respective port.

The procedure below will guide you:

  • First, plug the male end of the 3.5mm audio cable into the speaker and the female back into the XGIMI projector.

connect speaker to projector using audio cable

The procedure requires an AUX cord  that comes with most Bluetooth speakers. If you do not have the cord or cannot find it, you can get it online.

  • Next, select the connected speaker channel by pressing the Speakers icon on the main screen and selecting Audio Out.
  • Then turn on your Bluetooth speaker and set it to pairing mode.
  • Next, on your projector, go to Settings > Audio and select External Speaker Mode.
  • Finally, select Search for Speaker and choose your device from the list.

The information above is beneficial when connecting your XGIMI projector to Bluetooth speakers. Therefore to connect your projector to a Bluetooth speaker, follow the procedure carefully, and your devices should work fine. However, you can always contact XGIMI customer service for experienced technical help if you encounter any challenges.
