  • Chromecast functionality can be added to Samsung or LG TVs using a separate Chromecast device connected to the HDMI port.
  • Several other brands like Sony, Philips, TCL, and Hisense offer TVs with built-in Chromecast, providing a variety of smart TV options with integrated casting capabilities.

In this article, we’ll quickly guide you through which TV brands offer built-in Chromecast, so you can easily cast and enjoy your content with no extra fuss.

Understand Built-In Chromecast

Built-in Chromecast allows you to cast content from your personal device to your TV.

It works exactly the same way that normal Chromecast devices do, except you do not have to plug a separate Chromecast device into the TV’s HDMI port.

Instead, the Chromecast device’s capabilities are already built into the compatible TV’s interface, allowing users to cast content without purchasing additional gadgets.

Your TV’s built-in Chromecast can do it all, whether you want to mirror your device’s screen, cast an app on your phone, or display a Google Chrome tab.

This means you can take advantage of your smart TV’s apps and cast content from your phone, tablet, or laptop directly on your TV. You can also use your same Google Home account as before, making it fast and easy to connect your device to your TV’s Chromecast.

Do Samsung and LG TVs Have Built-In Chromecast?

No, none of the Samsung or LG TVs have built-in Chromecast.

After contacting Samsung and LG’s customer support, we can confirm that, as of 2022, Samsung and LG TVs do not natively support Google Chromecast.

So, you will be unable to wirelessly connect your device to your Samsung or LG TV via Google Home to cast content or mirror your screen.

However, some Samsung and LG TVs natively support other methods of screen mirroring.

Samsung’s screen mirroring feature is called Smart View, which works by connecting to your phone via the Smart View quick settings feature or the SmartThings app. You can also mirror your phone’s screen to your TV using AirPlay.

LG’s screen mirroring feature is called Smart Share. It allows you to mirror your Android or iPhone/iPad screen using Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or AirPlay.

This can be done through your phone’s screen-sharing settings or the LG Screen Share app.

How Can I Use Chromecast on My Samsung or LG TV?

You can use Chromecast on a Samsung or LG TV by purchasing the Chromecast device.

There is still a way to cast content to your Samsung or LG TV using Chromecast, though you will have to buy a separate device.

Chromecast devices are usually modestly priced and can be plugged into your TV’s HDMI port.

You can also connect them to non-HDMI-compatible TVs with HDMI converters. This means that you can use them on smart and non-smart TVs alike!

Simply plug the Chromecast into your TV’s HDMI port or compatible converter and power it.

Then, set up your Google Home account (available on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store) and connect your phone to your Chromecast.

The good thing about using an external Chromecast device is that you can connect it to any TV. So, you can continue to use it even if you go on vacation or trade your older TV in for a newer model.

You can also use a Chromecast with Google TV , which features built-in apps, transforming your old TV into a snazzy new smart TV.
