The workday has ended, and now you’re ready just to sit back, relax and enjoy your favorite show.
You sit down on your couch with your favorite snack, grab the remote, and get ready to immerse yourself in a different world. You turn on your Sceptre TV, but something’s wrong. There’s sound, but no picture is coming out.
What. The. Hell.
You might be panicking at this point, but don’t. Most often than not, you only have to reset your Sceptre TV to solve this issue.
Resetting your Sceptre TV will revert it to its original settings and eliminate most performance issues.
But how do you reset your Sceptre TV?
The good news: you don’t have to be a technology expert to reset your Sceptre TV. You only have to follow some simple instructions, which we’ll teach you below.
Quick Navigation
How to Soft Reset Your Sceptre TV?
Doing a factory or hard reset will restore your television to its original state when you first unboxed it. Restoring will wipe all the changes made in the settings and any information you have typed into your TV, including your adjusted settings, downloaded applications, or accounts on streaming services.
If you want to avoid the hassle of inputting everything again, we advise you to perform a soft reset first and see if that fixes your problem. You don’t need specialized tools to do a soft reset, just follow the steps below:
Step 1: Turn the TV Off
To turn your Sceptre TV off, press the power button on your TV or on the remote control. Press the power button for at least five seconds until it is fully turned off.
Step 2: Disconnect the TV from its power source
Once you are sure that the TV is off, disengage the power cord connecting your television to the power socket. Wait at least one minute before plugging it back in.
Step 3: Turn it back on
After replugging the cord into the power socket, you can turn your Sceptre TV back on. Hopefully, the problem will be gone, and all your data will still be present.
Power cycling, or turning things off and on again, interrupts whatever processes are happening inside the television, including the one causing the problem.
These programs will start again when you turn the appliance back on, hopefully without issues. So, exercise some patience and give your TV a chance to reset.
Here’s a video of the process just in case:
How to Factory Reset Your Sceptre TV?
If the soft reset didn’t work for you and you’re still experiencing problems, it’s time to do a factory reset. A factory reset can be done in numerous ways.
Factory Reset With A Remote
Resetting your Sceptre TV can be done straight from the Settings menu. Here’s how!
Step 1: Go to the “Settings” menu
Press the Menu button on your Sceptre TV remote and click on “Settings.”
Step 2: Go to “Device Preferences”
Scroll through the Settings menu until you see Device Preferences. Click on that.
Step 3: Go to “Reset,” and then “Factory Data Reset” OR “Erase Everything,”
Whether you see “Factory Data Reset” or “Erase Everything” depends on your model. Your Sceptre TV will now function the same way it did straight out of the box.
Step 4: Wait for the TV to come back on
Your Sceptre TV’s screen will dim for a few seconds before lighting up again with the Sceptre logo on the screen.
Step 5: Change the settings based on your preference
And just like that, your Sceptre TV is ready to go! It will be wiped clean of any data saved previously, similar to when you bought it. You will be reminded to adjust your settings, and then you can use your TV as usual.
