Overview

The Doosl DSIT032 Wireless Presenter is a reliable high-quality remote clicker and pointer that’s sure to serve you at all your important presentations and talks.

It’s well made and has a variety of useful features.

Design

This Doosl wireless presenter has a nice look and a modern design featuring rounded corners that give it a slick appearance. It comes in an elegant grey color that adds to its aesthetic feel.

The clicker has a sturdy and durable construction. It has a body made from metal aluminum alloy and a metal dome with nickel plating, which is stronger compared to the plastic materials used in most of the other similar products. The silicone keypad provides high tactility and a smooth touch.

The wireless receiver is designed to attach to the bottom of the remote when not plugged. It uses an anti-lost magnetic mechanism to keep it in place.

Despite its metal build, the clicker is still lightweight at only 46 g. With the compact dimensions of 133 x 27 x 13.3 mm, it’s comfortable to hold and operate during long presentations. The USB dongle only weighs 3g with dimensions of 22.2 x 14.2 x 7 mm.

Pointer

The presenter features a green laser pointer. It’s a Class 2 laser that produces a green light of 532 nm wavelength at less than 1mW, in compliance with the regulations for laser pointers so there’s no risk of any health hazards.

The green laser has a lower wavelength than the red laser and it’s much brighter. Hence, it’s more visible to the human eye.

For this reason, this pointer is more suitable than other pointers with red beams for use in wide rooms and conference halls that are intensely illuminated, as it can cover a distance of more than 200 meters.

The downside of using a green laser is that it requires more power to function. Thus, it’s expected to drain the battery faster.

Wireless Range

The wireless receiver operates on the WIFI radio frequency of 2.4 GHz. It’s capable of working up to a maximum range of 100 meters. This range is wide enough to cover all sorts of meeting rooms and even the biggest conference halls.

Using the presenter, you’ll be able to move freely around the place, engage with your audience as much as you wish, while still controlling the slideshow in 360 degrees from any position or angle within the room.

The reliable wireless receiver ensures a continuously stable connection between the clicker and your device at all times. The only problem is that it still uses a USB Type-A port instead of the new Type-C.

Controls

The presenter features four keypad buttons that support several functions to give you full control over your slideshows without the need to reach for the device itself at any time during your presentations.

These functions include enter, tab, alt-tab, hyperlinks, black screen mode and full-screen mode, and page flip using the up and down arrows.

Compatibility

The Doosl wireless presenter works simply through plug and play. All you need to do is plug the USB receiver into your device. It’s compatible with almost every popular desktop and mobile operating system available in the market.

Here’s the list of these operating systems:

  • Microsoft Windows: Windows 2003, XP, Vista, Windows 7, 8, and 10
  • Apple: Mac OS, iOS
  • Linux
  • Android

This presenter also offers support for several word processing and presentation programs. The list of supported programs include:

  • Microsoft Office: PowerPoint, Word, Excel
  • iWork: Keynote, Pages, Numbers
  • Prezi, Google Slides, Adobe PDF

Power

This pointer operates at a working voltage rated between 3.7 and 4.2 Volts. It uses an embedded rechargeable Lithium polymer battery with a capacity of 400mAh. You can charge it through the USB. A full charge is expected to last for a whole month of regular use.

You wouldn’t need to worry about the battery dying in the middle of your presentation. You can always check the battery LED indicator that indicates when it’s charging and gives a notification when the battery is low.

The only inconvenience here is the use of a Micro USB charging port and not the Type-C version.

How-To Guide

The presenter is fairly simple to use. It’s plug and play, so you just plug the USB receiver into your device whether it’s a desktop, laptop, or any other compatible device and it’ll be automatically recognized and ready to go without the need to install any kind of software.

It’s important to note that in order to use it with a Mac device, it requires a USB adaptor  so that the receiver would be recognized correctly.

The buttons are easy to navigate. You have the power button on the side to turn it on and off. There’s the pointer button to switch the laser. You also have three buttons to control your slides.

The up and down buttons allow you to navigate the slides. There are three modes that you can choose from by holding the up button for 2 seconds: up and down arrows, left and right arrows, and pages or slides flip.

Holding the down button for 2 seconds enters black screen mode. If you press the click button, you get the tab function. Double click is for the enter function or to go to a hyperlink. Press and hold for alt-tab, which alternates between all your open windows.

You can also long-press the up and down buttons to enter Prezi mode.

Alternatives

If you’re looking for a less expensive option with almost the same features, check the Doosl Economic Version . The only two differences are its plastic body and the included volume control buttons.

The Doosl DSIT023C  is also an excellent alternative. It’s one of the few current options on the market with support for USB C. It has an LED display and a timer function as well.

Conclusion

The Doosl DSIT032 is one of the most reliable and durable wireless presenters you can get with its stylish design and loads of useful features. Above all, it’s extremely simple to use, even for novice technology users.
